Universal Horror Unleashed is an upcoming Halloween-themed attraction under construction at Area15, an entertainment complex located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Announced in January 2023,[1] it will be the second Halloween-themed experience from Universal Destinations & Experiences, after Halloween Horror Nights. The attraction is set to open on August 14, 2025 at Area15 and is currently in development at Universal Studios United Kingdom.
History
In January 2023, Universal announced a new "horror experience" called Universal Horror Unleashed, which is set to be the anchor tenant in a 20-acre expansion of Area15.[2][3] Unlike Universal's seasonal Halloween Horror Nights events, it will be a permanent and year-round fixture.[4][5] On March 8, 2023, NBCUniversal's theme park division Universal Parks & Resorts changed its name to Universal Destinations & Experiences.[6] Construction began in October 2023,[7] with the walls erected by December 18, 2023.[8][9] The attraction will open in 2025 and consist of four haunted houses, based on The Exorcist: Believer, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, "Universal Monsters", and "Scarecrow: The Reaping".[10] In December 2023, Universal Horror Unleashed was confirmed to be duplicated for the upcoming Universal Studios United Kingdom.[11]
