Star is a member of Steele's dogsled team. He has a high and slightly raspy voice and he is one of the secondary tritagonists in Universal's 1995 film Balto alongside his friends Nikki and Kaltag. He is voiced by Robbie Rist. He's also good friends with Balto
Small, meek, and timid, he is often picked on and browbeaten. No one pays Star any mind unless it is to physically harm him in someway. One could argue if he's even friends with Kaltag and Nikki as they never speak to him. His presence in the trio seems to be hardly tolerated and he probably hangs around with Kaltag and Nikki for status and protection. It is clear in the film that besides Jenna and Rosy, Star doesn't dislike Balto as much as the others do. In fact, he seems to have the most faith in Balto like during the square off between Balto and Steele, Star is the first to stand up to Balto, pointing out that he is trying to assist and after Steele's fall, he is the first to show Balto support. This implies he only complies with the abuse Steele and the group inflict on Balto because he himself was not strong enough to stand up to Steele before. He makes up for this with his nicer nature, even by bonking Steele in the face. Star is also quite kind and more morally driven than the rest of his friends, as he was one of the first dogs in the group to point out what was actually at stake: the children’s lives, not Steele’s position as leader.
Appearance
Star is a greyish-purplish and tan Siberian Husky with blue eyes. He is smaller than most of the other dogs which combined with his timid personality, it makes him an easy target for the others to browbeat him.

Trivia
In Balto II: Wolf Quest, Sumac is comparable to him.
Jenna, Rosy, Star and Doc never seem to be hostile to Balto because of his wolf-side.
He's only dog to get punched by Kaltag and bury himself in the snowy alley of Nome, Alaska at the same time AFTER Kaltag and Nikki stop having a conversation which gets to the point after Balto exits the scene.
Star is the first member of Steele's team to leave him for Balto as Balto becomes the new leader of the team, proving Star hates Steele even though he never stood up to him.
